Antonio Caycedo‐Marulanda is a leading colorectal surgeon whose research is reshaping the surgical management of rectal cancer and advancing the role of robotic surgery. His work centers on two key areas: optimizing outcomes in rectal cancer treatment and evaluating the cost-effectiveness and feasibility of robotic platforms. A major contribution is his landmark 2022 study on the impact of robotic surgery within a tertiary care colorectal program, which provided crucial Canadian data on costs and short-term outcomes, garnering 13 citations.
