Antoine Missistrano is a pioneering surgeon at the forefront of minimally invasive robotic surgery, whose work bridges the fields of otolaryngology, neurosurgery, and reconstructive oncology. His primary research focuses on developing and validating novel transoral robotic surgery (TORS) approaches for complex skull base pathologies. In his landmark 2016 study, Missistrano demonstrated the first successful clinical application of TORS for sellar tumors using the da Vinci Surgical System, a breakthrough that offered a new, minimally invasive corridor to the sella turcica without the need for soft-palate splitting (67 citations).
