About
Anne Dubois is a leading colorectal surgeon whose research is reshaping the surgical management of rectal cancer, with a particular focus on robotic-assisted and minimally invasive techniques. Her major contributions center on defining the safety and efficacy of robotic total mesorectal excision (TME), especially in high-risk patient populations. In a landmark 2023 multicentre prospective study (16 citations), she established the short, safe learning curve for robotic-assisted TME, providing crucial evidence to support wider adoption of this technology. Her 2024 prospective European trial (15 citations) directly compared laparotomy, laparoscopy, robotic, and transanal TME in high-risk patients, offering vital comparative effectiveness data. Dubois has also advanced the field through her work on anastomotic techniques in robotic hemicolectomy and risk prediction modelling for pelvic sepsis and positive circumferential resection margins.
