Alberto Di Leo is a leading figure in surgical oncology, with a primary focus on gastric and colorectal cancer management. His research has been instrumental in advancing the standardization of lymph node dissection, a critical factor in improving patient outcomes. Di Leo’s most influential work, “Gastric cancer: Current status of lymph node dissection” (2016, 186 citations), provides a comprehensive analysis of the D2 procedure, which has become the standard of care in the Far East for both early and advanced gastric cancer.
