About

Dr. Aileen Caceres is a pioneering gynecologic surgeon whose research focuses on advancing minimally invasive and robotic surgical techniques, particularly in benign gynecologic conditions and endometriosis. Her major contributions include demonstrating the safety and efficacy of robotic laparoendoscopic single-site (R-LESS) surgery, a technique that reduces surgical incisions and recovery time. She has also pioneered the use of near-infrared fluorescence imaging with indocyanine green during robotic single-site endometriosis resection, significantly improving the visualization and removal of deep infiltrating endometriosis lesions. During the COVID-19 pandemic, her influential review for the Society of Robotic Surgery provided critical recommendations on viral transmission risks during minimally invasive surgery, helping to guide surgical practice worldwide. With her most-cited works accumulating over 100 citations, Dr. Caceres has established herself as a leader in robotic gynecologic surgery, consistently pushing the boundaries of what is possible with single-site approaches and advanced imaging to improve patient outcomes.
