摘要

Digital agriculture refers to the use of technology in agriculture to improve farm efficiency, productivity, and profitability. It has the potential to revolutionize farming practices, improve food security, and promote sustainability. Feeding a growing population, climate change, better decision-making, cost savings, access to markets, economic benefits, optimum resource management, and job creation are some of the important objectives of digital agriculture. The digital technologies used create a value chain of food systems by enhanced traceability, supply chain optimization, consumer engagement, enhanced food safety and quality, promotion of sustainable practices, and innovative business models. Innovation in digital agriculture has the potential to transform the way food is produced and distributed. It includes precision agriculture, artificial intelligence, farm management software, big data analytics, the Internet of Things, robotics and automation, and blockchain technology to promote sustainable and environmentally responsible practices. It has its limitations of cost, infrastructure, security concerns, connectivity, knowledge, and skill gaps. Agriculture is the backbone of India, and the government has taken initiatives to promote digital agriculture and has launched various mobile applications to reconstitute the sector. The future of digital agriculture is promising as it revamps the potential for the production and consumption of food from farm to fork.
