摘要

Educational robots serve a critical role in enhancing children's education, particularly in promoting interactive learning. With their ability to adapt to individual needs, the robots can offer dynamic teaching methods that improve learning outcomes. They also offer uninterrupted learning assistance beyond school hours, enabling consistent learning with their non-judgmental nature creating a safe environment where children can learn from their mistakes without fear of embarrassment. This aspect, combined with the novelty and fun associated with robots, enhances motivation and engagement in learning. In this paper we present a new educational robot, LINA, which is designed to captivate children's attention and foster active engagement by creating an enjoyable and immersive learning experience. Using gamification techniques and feedback mechanisms, LINA motivates children to participate actively, promoting their sustained interest and enthusiasm for learning. In the initial version of LINA we implemented several activities designed to go beyond traditional school subjects, targeting children's cognitive development and learning in various domains more directly. More specifically, a range of activities aimed to enhance language skills, mathematical and visuospatial problem solving, but also important social skills like Theory of Mind.
