摘要

Dear Editor, We are writing to raise concern about the application of artificial intelligence (AI) technology to clinical surgery in academic settings, with a particular emphasis on 3 important tools: Turnitin, ChatGPT, and the false-positive problem. By increasing productivity in the operating room, decreasing human error, and improving patient outcomes, artificial intelligence (AI) technology holds the potential to completely transform clinical surgery in academic settings.[1] Due to its ability to analyze patient data and provide customized treatment plans based on individual features, this technology helps expedite the preoperative planning process.[1] Furthermore, real-time navigation and guidance during surgeries can be provided by AI-powered robots, which helps surgeons conduct intricate procedures with higher accuracy and precision.[1] Additionally, AI systems are capable of analyzing medical images to advise surgeons in making crucial surgical decisions and assist them in identifying irregularities. Artificial intelligence (AI) can assist in anticipating surgical results and identifying possible complications by utilizing predictive analytics. This allows health care providers to proactively address difficulties and maximize patient care. AI technology can also track a patient's postoperative recovery, giving medical professionals important information and enabling early intervention in the event of difficulties. The application of AI technology to clinical surgery has great potential to improve surgical results, raise the standard of patient care, and advance surgical medical research. Surgeons can use cutting-edge technology to improve patient outcomes and operating room efficiency by utilizing artificial intelligence (AI). As artificial intelligence (AI) grows and progresses, it is being integrated into medical processes more and more. In the context of clinical surgery, a false-positive result may cause patients to undergo unnecessary treatments, increasing the chance of problems, hazards, and injury to the patient. The false positive by AI application in clinical surgery is possible. For example, it might lead to a false positive in interpretation of radiographic investigation.[2] In this letter, we will go over the potential downsides as well as how these AI tools can enhance academic research and clinical surgery learning. ChatGPT, a conversational AI tool from OpenAI, has shown a great deal of promise for improving user-AI interactions. ChatGPT can be used to spark conversations, offer clarifications on difficult surgical procedures, and answer questions in the context of academic research in clinical surgery. Through the use of natural language processing, ChatGPT can help students and researchers grasp complex ideas and stay informed about the most recent developments in surgical methods. The possibility of misinterpreting or miscommunicating crucial medical information is one possible issue with using AI systems like ChatGPT in clinical surgery. Patient safety may be jeopardized, and medical errors may occur if the surgeon receives inaccurate or deceptive information from the AI system. Health care providers must employ AI technologies like ChatGPT with caution and always rely on their own experience and judgment when making important medical choices, even though they have great potential to increase efficiency and accuracy in clinical operations. However, the false positive or hallucination/fabrication can be generated by ChatGPT; therefore, user has to validate the result given by ChatGPT before further implication in clinical setting.[3,4] The popular plagiarism detection program Turnitin is essential to preserving academic integrity in clinical surgery research.[5] Through the process of scrutinizing and contrasting submitted manuscripts with an extensive collection of academic journals and publications, Turnitin assists in detecting instances of plagiarism and guarantees that academic work is authentic
