摘要
Robotic technology has gained remarkable momentum in recent years, presenting diverse opportunities for revolutionizing the healthcare industry. Real-time applications of robotics in healthcare have emerged as a catalyst for enhancing patient care, enabling precise surgical interventions, facilitating rehabilitation processes, improving diagnostics, and streamlining various healthcare practices. This chapter explores the transformative potential of robotics in real-time healthcare applications. Surgical procedures have witnessed significant advancements through robotic-assisted surgeries. Technologies like the da Vinci Surgical System empower surgeons with enhanced precision and flexibility, enabling minimally invasive procedures across multiple specialties. Rehabilitation processes benefit from robotic devices that offer support, guidance, and feedback, aiding patients in recovering mobility and strength. Robotic exoskeletons for walking assistance and robotic arms for upper limb rehabilitation are noteworthy examples. Telemedicine, facilitated by robotics, enables remote diagnosis and treatment, bridging geographical barriers. Telepresence robots equipped with cameras, screens, and microphones enable healthcare professionals to remotely examine patients, provide consultations, and monitor their conditions in real time. Robotic systems are also employed to enhance diagnostic imaging procedures, positioning imaging equipment precisely, leading to accurate scans and improved diagnostics. Medication delivery in healthcare facilities has been streamlined by robotics. Automated systems precisely sort, package, and distribute medications, reducing errors and improving efficiency. Robotics also plays a crucial role in elderly care, providing companionship, medication reminders, and monitoring vital signs. Furthermore, robots have proven valuable in emergency response scenarios, assisting medical personnel by assessing situations, locating victims, and providing real-time information. The abstract highlights the transformative impact of robotics in real-time healthcare applications, ranging from surgical interventions to rehabilitation, telemedicine, diagnostics, medication delivery, elderly care, and emergency response. The continued advancement of robotics in healthcare promises improved patient outcomes, reduced costs, and enhanced procedural efficiency. With ongoing developments, robotics will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of healthcare, revolutionizing the way medical services are delivered and received.
