Elevating Hospitality with Smart Hotel Technologies: A Guest – Centric Perspective

In an era marked by rapid economic growth, the hospitality industry has enthusiastically embraced cutting-edge technologies, including the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotics, service automation, big data analytics, and virtual reality. These technological advancements have paved the way for the proliferation of smart hotels, significantly enhancing convenience for travellers and contributing to overall economic development. This research, employing a descriptive correlation approach and involving a comprehensive survey of over 385 regular hotel guests, uncovered a prevailing positive sentiment towards the convenience and control aspects offered by smart hotel features. Notably, guests exhibited strong acceptance of smart hotel technologies, particularly emphasizing their perceived usefulness. Furthermore, the study illuminates a significant correlation between guests who strongly identify with specific interests, activities, and lifestyles and their favourable evaluations of smart hotel attributes. This profound connection underscores the imperative of sustained technology integration to elevate the guest experience, aligning with India's strategic tourism objectives. As a practical recommendation, advocating for smart hotel management as a manifestation of advanced technology within the hospitality sector has the potential to expand the consumer base. By providing personalized services and cultivating an image of efficiency and sophistication, smart hotels can not only secure a larger market share but also fortify their core competitiveness in the dynamic landscape of the hospitality industry.
