摘要
The field of robotics is changing at an unprecedented pace. \nRobotic technologies that integrate information technology \nwith physical embodiment are now robust enough to be \ndeployed in industrial, institutional, and domestic settings. \nThey have the potential to be greatly beneficial to \nhumankind. However, how these products should behave \nand interact with humans — act socially — remains largely \nunclear. When designing these products, we will need to \nmake judgments about what technologies to pursue, what \nsystems to make, and how to consider context when \ndesigning artifacts and services. Researchers and designers \nhave only just begun to understand these critical issues.
